Drawing Song

Zach drew inspiration for “Drawing Song” while observing his twin daughters’ feverish creativity during the first Covid lockdown. With no social outlets to divert their attention the seven-year-old sisters would often spend entire days drawing at the dining room table. The opening bass figure of the song, played by Zach on the 6-string violin, represents the girls’ drive to finish their creative ideas while the ensuing violin melodies represent Zach’s thoughts as he watches them draw.

Moro Morocco

Keita Ogawa - I had a memorable experience performing at the Gnawa Festival in Morocco. People there play music all through the night until morning. When I came back to the US I felt I wanted more Morocco. Moro means “really/very” in Japanese.

Snow Claw

On Bob Lanzetti’s “Snow Claw” the studio is used as an instrument by utilizing the opportunity for multiple overdubs of each musician. From violin and guitar you’ll hear eerie backgrounds, melodies, abstract effects, and even a cello-like bass line. From percussion you’ll hear several layers of groove as well as a building, multi-layered percussion ensemble for the closing of the tune.
